Miss Fortune on the other hand shows up at a flat 10% rate and either knocks down the enemy, shoots their weapon, or damages a limb. In short if you have Miss Fortune and do single shots in VATs. “Just when your enemies think they have the upper hand, Miss Fortune appears to turn their world upside down. Appearing only in V.A.T.S., she has the ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.” — in-game description Miss Fortune is a perk in Fallout: New Vegas.

For the trait, see Finesse (trait). |
With the Finesse perk, you have a higher chance to score a critical hit on an opponent in combat, equivalent to 5 extra points of Luck.
”Fallout New Vegas Miss Fortune Worth It
— In-game description, Fallout 3Finesse is a perk in Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.
Effects
This perk grants an extra 5% chance to land a critical hit upon an opponent regardless of the player's Luck attribute. This bonus is affected by a weapons critical multiplier.
Characters with very low Luck arguably do not benefit as much from Finesse, as they are not typically reliant on critical chance to be effective. This also holds true for characters that almost always attack from stealth - sneak attacks are always criticals and do not rely on critical chance.
Notes
- In the Official Fallout 3 Strategy Guide, under the 'Luck' section, it states incorrectly that you need a minimum of 6 Luck to acquire the Finesse perk. There is no minimum Luck score (or other prerequisites, for that matter) to select it.
- In the Official Fallout: New Vegas Strategy Guide, in the 'Critical Chance' section, it states that Finesse adds an additional 15% critical chance to unarmed and melee attacks instead of the usual 5%. This is not stated elsewhere in New Vegas material.

I thought Miss Fortune was a perk for bad luck on your enemies. I didn't know it was an actual person just like the Mysterious Stranger. I just came about this just now. This looks funny. I loved the Mysterious Stranger in Fallout 3, but I don't know, he just doesn't seem worth it this time, it's like, been there, done that. So I am thinking to taking the Miss Fortune for something different. How do you guys and gals like her? Is she worth it? Is it good comic relief? Does she even help? There are a few times in Fallout 3, I needed the Mysterious Stranger. I even loved how I could dress up like him in the game. I am trying to do this in New Vegas so no luck finding a long coat like I did in Fallout 3.
